NOTES: We have no idea who this John Adamthwaite could be; however, there was a marriage in 1696 in Lancaster St Mary between an Elizabeth Adamthwaite and a John Beck. The Marriage Bond states that John Beck was a druggist of Kirkby Kendall. The Bondsman was a Thomas Eskrigge, of Kirkby Kendall, mercer. A John Adamthwaite was buried in Orton on 18 August 1707, and we assume this is John of Stenneskew. The Bond also mentions that John Beck was the son-in-law of Mary Adamthwaite, so perhaps Mary was John Adamthwaite's wife and Elizabeth their daughter - but, again, we have found no other records that could relate to Mary or Elizabeth. There was a Thomas Tolmin recorded in the Clergy Database as a Schoolmaster in Preston Patrick in 1698 and 1701, and he was the Vicar at Ravenstonedale from 1706 - 1728; a number of Tolmin children were baptised between 1712 and 1728 in Ravenstonedale - records state their parents were Thomas Tolmin, Clerk and Margaret his wife..
