This couple are my personal brick wall - and the reason I got involved in the Adamthwaite one-name study. I really believed that if I collected details about ALL the Adamthwaites around at that time I would discover where and when John Adamthwaite was born. Instead I discovered that there are quite a few of us hunting him down!

For the record, just in case anyone knows where to find him:

John Adamthwaite was probably born around 1725 and his wife Isabel Keasley was born around 1724. We do know that when they married in Ravenstonedale in 1753 they were both 'of this parish'.

We believe that John was buried in Kirkby Stephen on 27 April 1804 (age 79) and his wife Isabel on 16th August the same year (age 80).
