Will of William Vipond Adamthwaite (1794-1872)
William Vipond
Adamthwaite was the son of Thomas and Lucy (Vipond) Adamthwaite –
although we have not found a marriage for him, in 1851, 61 and 71 census
he was living with Isabella (Rickerby) and they had three daughters –
Lucy (1851-58), Mary Isabella (1856 - ?) and Kate Ellen (1861 - ?), all
of whom were registered with the surname Adamthwaite. But in this Will
Isabella and the surviving children are named Rickerby. We believe
that the Executrix
Mary Keatley could be Isabella’s sister.
In the event,
Isabella Rickarby died 12 days BEFORE William Vipond Adamthwaite. There was some dispute about the
administration of this Will –
see Press – we are currently trying to
locate the Court papers to establish what this was about.
