March 2008 Newsletter - sent to all members of the Adamthwaite mailing list on rootsweb

Updates to the Archive

First drafts of family trees for all nine lines of Adamthwaites have now been loaded up on the site – with special thanks to Bob and Paula who provided GEDCOMs for their lines.  I would be grateful if you could all take a look at the charts for your line and let me have any omissions and corrections.

There is also a new article on the Miscellany section – Mary’s story (the PINK line of Adamthwaites), written by Ella.

You may also be able to access the Times Digital Archive through your local library, if they have a subscription, just by entering your library card number as your password – I can in theory, however the site is constantly busy!

Contacting living relatives

At the suggestion of one of our members, I recently sent letters to all the Adamthwaites I could find in the English electoral registers ... in the hope of contacting anyone who might be interested in finding out more about their Adamthwaite ancestors, who may also be able to share information with us.  I have received replies from a small number of people, one of whom has already sent in some splendid photos to add to the VIOLET line gallery and has also corrected some errors for us (thanks Phil).

If you would like a copy of the letter I used to send to any possible Adamthwaite contacts you may be able to find from electoral rolls or telephone directories for your part of the world, just let me know and I will email you a copy.

Finally ...

Please let me know if there are any additional areas you would like covered on the Adamthwaite Archive … and more articles about your own ancestors are always very welcome.
